By the way, I just got my invite to get a Simple account and I’m already enjoying the experience more than I’ve enjoyed any part of traditional banking. If they’re as respectful of my money as much as they are my experience as a web and mobile user, we’re going to get along great.
Square’s built in loyalty program is pretty nifty.
So far, I’ve only seen it in use this once, but am already a fan. The merchant sets it up and customers don’t need to do a thing. Forget about bringing your coffee sleeves, punch cards, or even using a punch card replacement mobile app. It’s taken care of.
Look at that, Intuit is taking on Square.
The hardware actually looks pretty good, but the software and website looks dated, in comparison to Square’s simple and frankly beautiful designs.
It will be interesting to see how well their monthly pricing option works, because the lack of a monthly fee is the first thing all the merchants I’ve spoken with have mentioned, when discussing their decision to use Square.
PayPal’s competing offering has yet to launch… still.
