My Zombie Love Knows No Bounds

“Welcome to Willard, a small town lost in the idyllic world of the 50’s, where the sun shines every day, everybody knows their neighbor, and rotting zombies deliver the mail.”

Check out Fido on YouTube or in hi-def at apple.com.

I can’t wait.

Missionary Lizards?!

Ken Ham’s organization, Answers in Genesis, has just opened the Creation Museum and I am downright giddy at the prospect of taking a road trip. This place is to science museums what a cargo cult is to an airport.

As expected, Pharyngula has the story and a nicely edited summary from the blogosphere.

A sneak peek at the museum has disappointed me a little. It looks like the “science” is just as bad as expected, but the tone isn’t as outrageous, and therefore fun, as I’d hoped. I’m refraining from making any definite judgments until I get to visit the place and breathe it in for myself.

Brainiac

10 years and a couple days ago, Tim Taylor, the lead singer of Brainiac was killed in a car wreck. It doesn’t seem like 10 years ago. Brainiac still doesn’t sound like a band that stopped making music a decade ago. Everything from Smack Bunny Baby to Electroshock for President still sounds new.

Primal Forces of Nature

If you’ve never seen Network and you’re living on Earth, you really owe it to yourself to pick up a copy. Ned Beatty’s speech still gives me goosebumps.

We no longer live in a world of nations and ideologies, Mr. Beale. The world is a college of corporations, inexorably determined by the immutable bylaws of business.

In fact, just thinking about that speech has probably ruined my chances of getting a decent night’s sleep.
